I use D/2 Biological Solution — the same professional-grade cleaner trusted by the National Park Service and Arlington National Cemetery — worked in with water and industry-standard soft brushes. It’s slow, gentle, and it lets the stone do the rest of the healing on its own.

What I will never bring to your family’s marker:

·        No bleach or household chemicals

·        No wire brushes or scrapers

·        No pressure washers

Every one of those “fast” methods strips the surface and shortens the life of the stone. There’s no undo button on a headstone. I don’t take shortcuts that can’t be reversed.

Here’s something most people don’t know: a proper cleaning isn’t finished the day it’s done.

D/2 keeps working for weeks — sometimes months — after I apply it. Sun and rain carry the process forward long after I’ve packed up. So the “after” photo I hand you is the safe result, not the final one. In the weeks that follow, you’ll watch the stone keep brightening on its own.

I’d rather give you a marker that heals slowly and lasts than a bleached-white stone that looks dramatic today and crumbles tomorrow. Less is more. Always.
